Spending Time With Yourself, By Yourself
We live in a world where it is easy to get overwhelmed and stressed. Our days are jam-packed with activities, obligations, and responsibilities that we can’t seem to find any time for ourselves. But did you know that spending time alone has many positive benefits? I understand that most of us are conditioned to believe the family/people we are with are all we need and the concept of personal space is alien to most people. Heck, even if you wanted some time away, people around you might not understand the need for it or support you. But all said and done, it is OK to get away from your routine, from the people you love & care about. There is no need to feel GUILTY about indulging in something you enjoy or feeling awful that you are out on your own without your loved ones.. No, you arent abandoning anyone.. In most homes, especially with couples, people who go to an office have an outlet, while the other might be at home all day. Now add a child or pet to the mix and it can get exhausting. Not just physically but mentally, and you will want to run away from it all if you don't take breaks and personal time out.  Makes sense? In this blog post, we explore the importance of taking some time for yourself, by yourself. We'll talk about how spending time alone helps you feel more connected to yourself and boosts your self-confidence. We will also discuss some tips on how to spend quality time with yourself so that you can reap all the benefits of being alone. So, read on if you're ready to discover the power of being alone and see how it can help improve your life! Spending time by yourself There are many benefits to spending time alone, including improved mental health and increased productivity. However, it is important to find a balance between spending time alone and with others. Spending time alone can help you to relax and recharge after a busy day. It can also give you the opportunity to reflect on your day and process your thoughts and emotions. If you spend too much time alone, however, you may start to feel isolated and lonely. It is important to find a balance between spending time alone and with others. Make sure to schedule in some quality time for yourself, but also make an effort to connect with friends and family members. Date with self There's something special about spending time with yourself, by yourself. It's a chance to reset and recharge, to reconnect with who you are without the distractions of everyday life. It can be tough to find the time and space to be alone, but it's worth it. Here are a few ideas for how to Spend Time With Yourself: 1. Get outside. There's nothing like fresh air and nature to help you feel grounded and connected to yourself. Go for a walk, sit in the park, or simply spend time in your backyard. 2. Make time for hobbies and interests. Doing things you enjoy is a great way to relax and rejuvenate yourself. Whether it's painting, playing an instrument, or reading, make sure to set aside some time each week to pursue your passions. 3. Unplug from technology. It's easy to get lost in the digital world, but it's important to disconnect from screens every now and then. Give yourself a break from social media, emails, and news headlines by spending an afternoon phone-free. 4. Connect with loved ones. Spending time with those who matter most can be a powerful way to nurture your soul. Whether it's catching up with an old friend or spending quality time with family, take advantage of opportunities to connect with the people you care about most Personal time out We all need a little personal time out every now and then. Whether it's to recharge our batteries, reflect on life, or just have some peace and quiet, spending time alone can be incredibly beneficial. It doesn't matter if you are single, living by yourself, with family, with a significant other, with pets, children, or elderly relatives.. You need some time out~~ :-)  If you're not used to being alone, it can be a bit daunting at first. But trust me, once you get into the swing of things, you'll love it! Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your personal time out: Find a comfortable place to relax: Make sure that the place you choose is comfortable and calming. This could be your favourite cafe, finding a quiet spot in the park, a cosy corner of your room, or even just laying on your bed with some calming music. Turn off the phone or at least put it on silent mode: One of the major benefits of personal time out is that you can really let go and focus on yourself. To do this, it's important to shut off all distractions. This means turning off your phone and any other devices that might take away from your relaxation. Do something you enjoy: Now that you have some peace and quiet, take advantage of it! Do something that makes you feel good whether it's reading a book, listening to music, meditating, or writing in a journal. Whatever it is, make sure it's something enjoyable and something that will help you relax and de-stress. Take regular breaks: It's important to remember to give yourself regular breaks throughout the day. Even if it's just for 5 minutes or so, taking time out from your routine will help clear your head and recharge your energy levels. you're somewhere comfortable where you won't be disturbed. This could be your bedroom, living room, back porch, or anywhere else that feels good to you. Allow yourself to feel all the feels: We often suppress our emotions when we're around other people. But when you're by yourself, there's no need to hold back! Give yourself permission to feel whatever comes up for you - anger, sadness, happiness, frustration - and allow those emotions to flow through you without judgement. Get in touch with nature: There's nothing quite like spending time in nature to soothe the soul. If possible, take some time during your personal time out to go for a walk. Whip out your phone and click a few pictures of things that catch your eye...My Story: I learnt early on in life that I needed some personal time out to keep myself recharged and get a breather. During initial days I would tell the people at home that I was going to go work from a cafe or a movie, but that only drew snide remarks and comments. They don't get it~~ For my personal sanity, I began using white lies as a way to get away from home - work meetings, friend visiting from out of town, a review meet etc...I love going to movies, dining out, working from a cafe I love [Chamiers, Writer's cafe or Brew room] and taking a trip to a new destination. When in Chennai, I used to head out to Pondicherry whenever I felt like I needed a short quick break. I would just go to the Koyembedu Bus stand, hop on a bus and head to Pondy, spend the day wandering about, grabbing a coffee or bite, taking pictures of things along the way, meeting a friend who's based there and taking the evening bus back. Even that short time away from home gave me such relief, and helped me recharge.  Travelling is a good way to reconnect with yourself, but then I do agree that solo travel is not everyone's cup of tea, so just do something in your town/city that you enjoy!!
