Kanhaiya Kumar's now famous speech from JNU campus after his release from jail has turned him into the most sought after individual by news anchors and journalists leading some political commentators to declare the rise of a new political star while others remain skeptical. There is very little doubt that Kanhaiya has indeed made an unprecedented impact on the mainstream political discourse which had lately become extremely polarized and vitriolic. But can a left-wing student leader really make substantial difference in electoral politics?
