The magnificent and stark landscapes of Spiti (Lahaul & Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh, India) are a sight to behold! A wonder! It is a place where the barren landscapes, snow clad Himalayas, rugged and beautiful people, and the monasteries seem to seamlessly blend; and it is hard to imagine one without the other. Majority of the monasteries in Spiti are over 900 years old and belong to the Vajrayana Buddhist sect. See the 'People of Spiti' gallery 'here'.
