Imagine, if there were no Engineers, there would be no one to design the bridges you drive through. If there were no engineers, there would be no cars. If there were no engineers there would be no video game designers to support your lazy-ass games. If there were no engineers how could you even “like” this post from the internet? Better yet, if there were no engineers, there would be no electricity in your area right now. I bet you didn’t realize, but almost every mechanical, electrical, structural body in your house or even neighbourhood is run by engineers. Have you ever stopped to think how engineering achievements impact your everyday life? From your morning cup of coffee to your favourite evening sitcom, engineering is a part of practically everything you do. Here’s how your day will look like without engineers. 6 A.M. – 9 A.M. Forget about waking up to your alarm — your clock is the product of an engineer. And don’t count on electricity to light up your rooms. Without the civil engineer around to build safe, smooth, durable roads, your drive to work will be a hazardous trip. Going one-step further, without mechanical and automotive engineers to design your car, your morning commute means walking to work. You finally arrive at the office — hungry, tired, thirsty, and dirty — only to find that without computer engineers, you have no computer. In fact, to be completely accurate, you really have no place to work — your tall office building remains standing thanks to the design of a structural engineer. 1 P.M. – 6 P.M. Considering lunch? You’re out of luck. Restaurants and homes would be left without stoves and ovens, and pre-packaged foods would be without packages. The Work – What work? Without engineers, there would be no heat, air conditioning, photocopier machines, conference calls, printers, e-mail, or World Wide Web. The workday is over, and you need to stop and do a few errands. Of course, you can’t pick up your dry cleaning, since engineers developed dry cleaning machines. As a matter of fact, since engineers play a big role in textile manufacturing, you have no clothes. 8 P.M. – 10 P.M. Dinner – It’s time to fuel the body after a hard day’s work. Since engineers have created a host of products and appliances that help you prepare food more quickly and easily, you’ll probably go to bed hungry. Crashing at home – sore, cold, hungry and aching for the soft cushions of your bed, you notice that you have no mattress. You guessed it, without engineers to design the machines that produce the mattress, your new bed will be the floor. Unfortunately, the evening TV shows you’d planned to enjoy are also out the window — engineers designed your TV too. Wondering what about the time in between? Guess what, you have absolutely nothing to do as there is no social media to pass away your time on Instagram. There are no stories, no filters. Hell! there are no phones to begin with! Actually, you will have no life at all. This Engineer’s Day, we salute our Engineers at MobiKwik for their endless effort and hard-work to keep us growing! Without them we are just a bunch of people waiting for some miracles to happen.
